On April 11, 2014, Vanderburgh County was awarded with WeTip’s highest honor, the 2014 National Safety award. The quality and quantity of tips recieved set Vanderburgh County ahead of the rest of the over 130 municipalities who play host to the WeTip program.

WeTip IS 100% ANONYMOUS. Operators will not take your name or number. If you give it to them, they will ask you to hang up and call again. They want to know everything you know about a crime, but they don’t want to know who you are. You can always know that your call is not being recorded or tracked. This is as anonymous as it gets.

If you have information that leads to the arrest and conviction of a criminal, you can let WeTip operators know that you want a reward. They will give you a code name to call back and check on the status of your case  and WeTip will pay out anywhere from $20 – $1,000. The WeTip board of directors will evaluate the severity of the crime, outcome of the case and recomendation of the officer to decide how the reward will be paid out. The caller will be informed of the pick up location by calling back to check on the status of the case.

There are many ways to use WeTip. Tips can be taken on every type of crime. Information on drug trafficking, felony warrants, cold cases, missing persons, robbery, theft; anything.

There is no perfect solution to solving crime. But WeTip gives you the opportunity to take an active role in protecting your community. Making the call really can make the difference. Use WeTip.
